Three beeps followed a settings change
Three sounds are not enough to call something a leak or a water-supply fault. The reviewed GE manual gives one very specific non-fault example: a triple beep confirms that the end-of-cycle sound option has been changed on models with that feature. 4, p. 22
How to tell: The important condition is that the sound immediately followed the documented settings operation. A spontaneous triple beep during a wash does not match that example. Keep the button action and the sound together when describing what happened.
What to do: If you were changing that setting and the manual applies, this is a confirmation, not a repair instruction. For three beeps in another situation, the meaning remains unverified here. Record any light or display message and take it to the correct model’s manual or support team.
It beeps while nobody is using it
Random idle beeping is frustrating because there may be no obvious event to connect it to. But an article about a door reminder or a completed cycle cannot settle that question simply because it also mentions beeping. What about water, drainage and filters?
The manual has separate troubleshooting sections for filling, drainage and cleaning performance.
